STORYTELLING WORKSHOPS

Tell compelling stories with clarity and confidence

In a noise-filled world, every business wants to be noticed and establish their reputation.

We all know that storytelling is a powerful tool to enhance leadership, sales, and marketing communications.

Research shows that people remember stories, not facts. So if you want to stand out in pitches, presentations, meetings and official communications, stories help you to make a lasting impact.

The challenge

Key to successful storytelling is taking your audience on a journey that feels relevant to their own lives and situations. Stories help you to cut through the noise and foster the connection that’s needed to build deeper relationships and promote positive action.

But many people feel unsure about how to structure, shape and tell relatable stories in a way that is engaging.

They think that storytelling is complicated and difficult to put into practice when it comes to day to day delivery.

But great storytelling doesn’t have to be complicated. The simplest stories can be the most powerful, moving and influential.

Humans are innate storytellers. You already hear and tell stories all the time. You simply need to know how to engage with them in a more conscious, constructive way. To understand when to use them. And to know how to structure, shape and tell them in a way that supports your vision, values, and business objectives.

This is exactly what we cover in our experiential storytelling skills workshops. How to find, create, and tell effective stories. No matter how simple or complex they are.

MY APPROACH

As a trained oral storyteller who studied folklore and myth at university and spent 20 years shaping stories in the field of strategic communications, my approach to storytelling blends ancient narrative techniques with modern business needs.

Over the course of a day I’ll take you deep into the world of storytelling to help you find your ‘mythic ground’, while remaining firmly rooted in your professional objectives so that you can deliver tangible outcomes for your business.

Group Discussion Moment

Deep participation

This isn’t a standard storytelling workshop. It’s an immersive experience that enables learning through deep participation. The day involves listening to, exploring, and telling stories–as well as engaging in a series of exercises designed to help you find your voice as a storyteller.

If you’re looking for a whole new way to understand and harness the power of stories, this high-energy workshop is for you. It will jump-start your creativity, energise your approach to using stories in your work, and make your communications more memorable.

You will leave feeling the power of stories in a way you’ve never experienced before.

From inspiration to implementation

This is more than just an inspiring day of storytelling. At its core the workshop delivers tried-and-tested tools and templates for you to immediately integrate into your everyday work.

You will leave with the practical knowledge and skills to structure and deliver persuasive narratives with confidence–ensuring that your stories make a real difference.

The result?

Whether you are looking for that edge in high-stakes pitches and presentations or seeking to develop large-scale storytelling approaches for your organisational communications, this workshop will transform your storytelling into a performance powerhouse.

THE THREE PILLARS

The day is built around three essential pillars designed to sharpen your communication.

Storytelling Integrity

We explore the role of a storyteller, the history of stories and the ethics of storytelling, to fully understand the power of storytelling in the modern corporate world. You will learn how to tell authentic stories that prioritise building meaning over sending messages, so that you can move from delivering information to driving action.

Story Architecture

Every compelling story needs a solid structure. This workshop explores the essential phases of narratives and equips you with a story-building system that works as effectively for individuals as it does for large-scale organisational communications. This highly implementable framework provides structure without rigidity–allowing you to map, construct, and deliver stories with ease.

Storytelling For Impact

The real skill is in the telling. Even the best narratives fall flat without effective delivery. This pillar focuses on the craft of performance to transform your storytelling. It teaches you how to use pacing, rhythm, and specific techniques—like zooming in on key moments—to ensure your stories resonate. By mastering these skills, you’ll be able to take your audience on a journey, ensuring you are noticed and remembered.

THE DETAILS

  • No storytelling experience is needed–this workshop is suitable for beginners and accomplished storytellers alike.

  • You’ll get resources and templates to take with you so that you can put learning into practice immediately.

  • The ideal workshop size is 8 to 12 people so that everyone can fully immerse themselves. More than 12 participants can be accommodated on request. More than 20 might be a storytelling gig rather than a workshop. In that case, have a look at my gigs page for more information.

  • These workshops are a great match for leaders, communicators, sales and marketing teams, but they are open to anyone who wants to improve their storytelling.

  • You don’t need to use storytelling in your work on a daily basis to access these workshops. Stories are a great way to bring teams together and learn valuable skills that are useful in both personal and professional situations.

  • Interactive days like these are a great antidote to a life led on-screen and are best experienced in person. They can be delivered anywhere across the UK.
